Save Money on Maui Airfare

Booking your tickets directly with an airline is probably the most expensive way to buy your airline tickets. The reservationists will almost NEVER tell you if another airline has lower fares.

 

Tickets are sold on the same airplane at wildly different prices, so shop around. The day of the week on which you fly makes a difference in the fare you pay. As a vacation destination, more traffic comes into Maui on weekends. So it's usually less expensive if you fly in and out, mid-week. When you are checking fares, try several different departure and return days to see how each affects your rates.

Save money on Maui Accommodations

 

The best time to come to Maui to receive the lowest airline and hotel rates is from September through mid-December. High season in Hawaii runs from December 15 to about April 15. You'll find prices are up and accommodations are harder to find during that period. So it's best to book either before or after those dates.

 

If you want to save a lot of money on your accommodations, we recommend that you skip the resort hotels and stay in a vacation condo. They're much more spacious, have more amenities and are usually much less expensive than hotel rooms at the pricey resorts. You can usually save between a half and two/thirds of the price of a smaller hotel room.

 

Condos often have full kitchens. Even if you're planning to eat all of your major meals out, it's still nice to have a refrigerator to stock cold drinks and snacks. The "feel" of most condos is usually very luxurious. They often have several TVs, a VCR, stereo system, and usually a microwave.

If you stay at one of the condos listed on our link page, you can book a rental car for a fraction of what you might normally pay at a car rental agency. If you book your auto when you book your condo or your air fare you qualify for a "tour rate." These rates are often much lower than dealing directly with the car rental companies. Again, talk to us before you book.
