Affordable Maui Wedding Photography

We know that photography is very important to your wedding here in Hawaii. You want to return home with photos that you can rave about. We have our own n-house photographer who shoots most of our Maui wedding photography for our wedding couples. That's one big reason that we offer such great prices. We don't have to book outside our company to achieve awesome Maui wedding photography.

John Souter is our main Maui wedding photographer. He has shot about 1200 Maui weddings and is proficient in film (especially 35mm) and digital photography. You will be very pleased by the Maui wedding photography that he takes at your wedding.

Maui Wedding Photography Style

While we pose our couples, we also strive to help them look natural and spontaneous as you can see from the shot on

the right. We love to catch our couples in those warm unguarded moments against the incredible Maui landscape.

The rapport which any Maui wedding photographer develops with his couples has a lot to do with the warmth he will be able to capture in the pictures he takes. John is especially good at establishing a positive relationship with each couple, helping them relax, be themselves and act naturally. And he is quick to shoot pictures whenever they capture the essence of your relationship.

We also like to pose you in scenic backgrounds that show off the incredible beauty of your Hawaii wedding setting. Because we have taken thousands of wedding photographs all over the island, we can tell you the best places (and times of day) for your wedding site to give us the best possibility of great Maui photography.

Digital Maui Wedding Photography

For couples who are interested in a candid look, we recommend upgrading the regular (film) photography in your Maui Wedding Package to digital coverage. With digital, we don't have to worry about using up all of our film (and thus increasing expenses). We can "fire away", knowing that if a shot is off, we can simply delete it later. This is especially important for candid Maui wedding photography so that the photographer doesn't miss any good shots.

Digital takes more time (and therefore it costs more money). But with digital we have all sorts of options open to us, including editing the photos (cropping, straightening, sharpening, etc.) and also adding special effects like color enhancement, soft focus filter, black and white as well as selective black and white, and many more features that can truly enhance the finished look of your Maui wedding photography.

We work hard with our Hawaii photography and believe that dollar-for-dollar you won't find any other Maui photographer on the island who does a better job for what we charge. We usually shoot our photography with an assistant who is busy helping the photographer do several different jobs to ensure that we have the best possible lighting conditions and poses.

Maui Photo Journalistic Styling


It has become increasingly popular for wedding photographers to shoot their couples in a journalistic style, often in black and white. We shoot this type of photography for many of our couples and have put together a separate page of photographs to show you what it looks like.

You may have us do photo journalistic photography in place of regular photography, or in addition to it, as some couples want. Because it requires a second photographer, the prices for the photo journalistic shoot are the same as our regular photo packages. Click here to see some sample photo-journalistic images.

Maui Photography: Black and White

Some couples want black and white Photography. If you prefer to have black and white instead of color, or some black and white, we can do that. We can shoot true black and white film or edit and print our color images in black and white, whether they the originals are shot on film or digital.
