Garden
Wedding Sites
You can choose a beautiful garden site
for your wedding. This page shows several different locations
that will give you an idea of what is available. The larger your
party, the more you should consider selecting a paid site. Many of the resorts also have garden sites so
so be sure to look on that page as well.
Maui Tropical
Plantation

The Maui Tropical Plantation provides a
beautiful background for your Maui garden wedding. The Plantation contains
approximately eight acres and is a popular tourist attraction.
They have an hourly tram that will take visitors around the grounds
(which gives you an idea about its size). The also have a nice
location for lunch, as well as a large gift store on
site.

The Plantation has a gazebo area
next to the pond and a small white bridge perfect for your wedding
photography. The location is excellent for a small wedding party
or larger groups up to a hundred people. Because it is a private
location, alcohol can also be served. There is also a place where
the bride can dress and be secluded from her bridegroom.

The gardens are located in Maui's central
valley, so the weather can be more cloudy than if you are on
the beach in South Maui. (But this also has the advantage of
providing a little less heat for the couple on hot days).

The Sea Watch
Restaurant (Makena)
-
This site is reasonably priced and has an
excellent view of the area and the ocean. It is also perfect for
your reception or dinner after the wedding. The scene below shows
the actual wedding site which is below the restaurant and
overlooking the golf course.
-
-
This site will accommodate up to about 35.
Because the Sea Watch is on a golf course, the grounds are green
and well kept. The view below is of the koi pool behind the
restaurant. The Sea Watch is great to work with. They even have a
large atrium area and overhand if the weather turns bad.
-
The Sea Watch has just added a newer site
that can be used for larger weddings. Again, you have a reasonable
site located next to a great restaurant that can be used for your
reception.

Maluaka
Beach
This site is not really a garden. It is
a grassy park overlooking the beach. While not nearly as nice
as the two paid sites mentioned above, it is free. This site
is best for couples who want a grassy area or garden-like setting
close to the beach.
This park is adjacent to the Maui Prince
Hotel. There is one nice grassy area surrounded by colorful
shrubs (see picture). There are also several large old trees
near the ocean that make a great backdrop for your photography.
There is a rest room available nearby
and 15 parking spaces further away. To find the beach take Piilani
Highway (31) south past Kihei. When the road makes a "T"
into Wailea Alanui drive, turn left at the signal. Watch for
the Maui Prince Resort and turn right towards the ocean on the
first road past the hotel. The road is not marked. The only real
sign says that it is a "Dead End".
